How Do I Maintain My Chainsaw Boots?

Cleaning Clean your chainsaw boots after each use. Chainsaw boots should not be washed in a washing machine. Instead, clean them with a mild soap solution and a cloth or sponge to remove stubborn dirt. Do not dry the boots near a heat source such as a radiator, and avoid direct sunlight when drying them.

Maintaining Leather Work Boots/Chainsaw Boots For leather boots, treat them with a protective product before the first use. The appropriate product can be found in the instructions that come with your boots. Depending on usage, repeat the treatment weekly or monthly to prevent the leather from drying out. Leather grease, leather cream, or silicone cream nourishes the leather, helping it remain water-repellent and keeping your boots shiny. Apply the product with a round applicator brush, then polish the boots with a buffing brush. For a finishing touch, you can give the boots an extra shine with a dry cloth.

Maintaining Goretex Work Boots/Chainsaw Boots Goretex boots should not be treated with leather grease. Instead, use a wax or waterproofing spray. First, thoroughly clean your boots. Once they are dry, apply shoe wax, rubbing it in with a sponge or cloth for the best results. After the wax has absorbed, apply the waterproofing spray. This treatment ensures that the boots remain water- and dirt-resistant.
